DESIGN HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT MORE THAN MAKING THINGS LOOK GOOD.
My career in design started before digital printing changed the industry. While earning my Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Advertising, I chose to work in a traditional print shop because I wanted to understand what happened after a design left the drawing board.
I learned color separation, film, negatives, prepress and how the printing process actually worked. That hands-on experience taught me something early in my career that has stayed with me ever since: great design has to work in the real world, not just look good on a screen.
From there, I moved into the agency world—first learning the craft, then working as a graphic designer, eventually becoming an Art Director and leading creative teams. Along the way, I had the opportunity to work on projects for brands including Coors Light, Telemundo, Ford, Lincoln and Nestlé, among many others.
Eventually, my freelance work grew into a business of its own. I left agency life and opened my own design studio. Within six months, I hired my first designer. Before long, one designer became a team of six, with me overseeing the creative work as Creative Director. What began as a small independent studio grew into an agency creating branding, advertising and design for real estate developers, restaurants and businesses of all kinds.
My work eventually expanded beyond traditional graphic design and into apparel. For more than 20 years, I’ve owned and operated an apparel business, designing thousands of products and gaining an entirely different perspective on design—one that combines creativity with production, materials, fit and manufacturing.
NOW, I’M BRINGING IT BACK TO WHERE IT STARTED.
After decades of building businesses, managing creative teams and producing thousands of designs, I wanted to simplify things and spend more time doing what made me choose this career in the first place:
CREATING.
Artistico Haus is intentionally small. No oversized agency. No unnecessary layers. Just decades of experience applied to select projects in branding, graphic design, print, web design and digital apparel pattern making.
WHO SAID THINGS HAVE TO BE STRAIGHT TO BE PERFECT?
Because good design doesn’t always come from following the rules. Sometimes it comes from knowing the rules well enough to know when to break them.
Artistico Haus is a small design studio backed by a very big history.
